Prohibited Activities
To maintain the sanctity and safety of the shrine and to respect those who are worshiping within, we ask
that all guests to please avoid the activities listed below…
- Please refrain from entering areas that are closed to the public (the main shrine building and other
buildings, along with fenced areas)
- No shouting, sitting in the shrine grounds and other actions that may disturb worshipers
- No eating or drinking while walking
- No littering of any kind, including trash, PET bottles or cans
- No smoking or using flames of any kind
- No flying drones or radio-controlled airplanes
- No walking through shrine grounds in wedding attire, cosplay, or other unusual clothing
- No using a tripod to take photos in narrow paths
- No taking photos or filming in areas where this is prohibited
- Please refrain from engaging in commercial activities such as taking photos or filming for commercial
purposes on shrine grounds
- Please refrain from engaging in activities such as journalism or surveys without permission
- Please do not park on shrine property for purposes other than visiting the shrine
- Please do not approach any wildlife on shrine grounds
Accessibility and
Shrine Map
The shrine is just outside the Inari Station on the Nara Line of the West Japan Railway Company, a
five-minute ride from Kyoto Station. It is a short walk from Fushimi-Inari Station on the Main Line of the
Keihan Electric Railway. The shrine is open 24 hours with both the approach to the shrine and the Honden
itself are illuminated all night.
